System tests take a long time to finish. Due to this often they are not run in CI with pull requests. This results in first the PR getting merged and then running of these tests. Apart from a slow feedback, this often results in tests failing because of new changes from the PR. These are most times are false positives and leads to what I call as maintenance fatigue in testers, where they are just busy fixing broken tests rather than adding missing tests or testing the functionality.Â
In this session, we will see how you can not only run all your hundreds and thousands of tests with PRs but also finish them in a predefined total run time of your choice (say 2 to 5 mins).Â
Note: The solution is build for Playwright and GitHub, so you can use the solution for web and api tests.Â
