THE FUTURE OF TESTING IS ???

There have been more debates in the software testing communities when you compare them to the debates in the other communities. It is both funny and sad at the same time. This is one of the rare communities that has its feet on both sides of the valley – one towards the future trends and the other on the history tightly holding the fundamentals. We have seen every decade bring in such dramatic changes that change the way we test software. The expectations from the software testers have also changed every few years.

Going back two decades, Selenium was not even popular, we were still testing desktop applications and no one was prepared for the mobile apps. Slowly, automation was considered cool and all the testers were worried about their jobs and roles. Majority of us survived the wave and let go of tools like QTP and Silk Test. Testers were considered the last line of defense and quality assurance was regarded as an integral part of any software development life cycle.
Now, we have ChatGPT handing out scripts, test cases and the expectations too have changed from the software testing community.

This talk highlights the experiences of Ajay as he ventures into predicting the future of testing once again in his speaking career and this time dives deep into the skills required to sail the tides of uncertain or exciting future, depending on where you stand. Sit back, relax and enjoy the adventurous ride from the past to the current to the future. Ajay has promised to touch upon a totally disruptive role of software tester, unheard in the majority of the community till now.
