Resiliency testing involves simulating real-world failure conditions—such as network outages, hardware malfunctions, software bugs, and surge in user load—to assess how the system responds, maintains functionality, and restores operations. The key objectives are to test fault tolerance, continuity of service, recovery speed, graceful degradation, and to identify undiscovered vulnerabilities.
Learn about basics of resiliency testing
Learn how to identify dependencies in systems and test them for resiliency
See how basic resiliency testing is done with live examples.
Seasoned testing professional with 18 years of testing experience. Has worked on varied systems in his career with avid interest in Integrations and Testing of Integrations. With experience of Non Functional Testing like Performance Testing, Security Testing and Resiliency as prime focus, he also has experience in creating and maintaining Test Automation Frameworks (UI & API), Test Automation Scripting, establishing & enabling end to end CI CD systems.
As organizations increasingly adopt microservices and distributed architectures, testers are faced with new challenges that traditional testing strategies struggle to address. Unlike monolithic applications, microservices introduce complexities such as inter-service dependencies, asynchronous communication, data consistency, and resilience, which require specialized testing approaches. This session will provide participants with a comprehensive framework for effectively testing distributed systems, from understanding their unique challenges to applying advanced testing techniques and tools.
Â
Through this session, attendees will gain insights into the types of testing essential for microservices, including contract testing to ensure service compatibility, integration testing to verify inter-service workflows, and chaos engineering to build resilient, failure-tolerant systems. Additionally, we’ll cover best practices for creating production-like environments using containers and orchestrators, managing dependencies with service virtualization, and enhancing system observability to identify and troubleshoot issues in real time.
