In this session on *Authentication with Playwright: Simple Recipes for Testers*, we’ll kick off with an introduction and motivation behind why authentication handling matters in test automation, using a demo app for practical context. We’ll explore the importance of reusing authentication state to speed up tests and reduce flakiness.
Then, we’ll dive into five hands-on authentication recipes: starting with the classic UI-based login combined with storage state, followed by a more efficient API-based login with storage state. We’ll then cover a hybrid UI + API approach for flexibility, a method for managing session tokens via environment variables, and finally, on-the-fly token injection using fixtures for dynamic test setups.
The session will include a live demo to bring these techniques to life, and we’ll wrap up with best practices and key considerations to ensure secure and maintainable test suites.

She brings deep expertise in core testing areas, including exploratory and context-based testing, as well as automation testing across UI validation, API testing, performance testing, and security testing.
