Van der Madeweg 5, 1114 AM Amsterdam
In this talk, the audience will be introduced to INGenious Studio – An open source all-in-one test automation framework designed after years of ground level research and real world experience.
It provides an easy and simple way to create highly reliable automated tests. It leverages the power of Playwright-Java and Appium-Java and combines them with a user-friendly IDE which makes it a highly effective solution.
The idea behind INGenious is to enable engineers, business analysts and even non-technical stakeholders to design high quality automated tests which focus on the business goals, without them having to worry about coding.
Ashish is a seasoned Test Automation Architect with over 12 years of experience in the Testing industry, renowned for his technical expertise, functional insights, and DevOps prowess. At ING Bank, Ashish has played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the testing landscape, currently leading the Test Center of Excellence and spearheading both Functional and Non-Functional testing streams.
Ashish has architected numerous Quality Assurance transformation projects that have been recognized by Forrester, setting new benchmarks for efficiency and reliability. His initiatives in data transformation and test automation frameworks have significantly enhanced operational effectiveness.
A passionate advocate for knowledge sharing, Ashish has a robust following on Medium and GitHub. He has created over 50 unique GitHub repositories featuring starter guides on various tools, platforms, and CI/CD solutions. Additionally, he is the creator of INGenious, an open-source, modern low-code test automation framework built on top of Playwright.
APIs are essential mechanisms in software communication, using a set of widely utilised definitions and protocols. Postman is a very popular tool that facilitates API testing, offering an intuitive graphical interface for sending requests and viewing responses. Although many QAs use Postman, they do not always explore its full potential. We will uncover the secrets of Postman for test automation, starting from basic API concepts to more advanced functionalities. We will learn to create collections, use variables and random data, execute automated test runs, and generate API documentation. Additionally, we will discover how we can use AI in Postman and how Newman contributes to automated test execution.
Understanding what an API is, the main HTTP methods used and their purposes
Creating a collection in Postman, exploring organisational features for better API test management
Understanding how and when to use variables to make tests more dynamic and reusable, including the use of random data
Exploring features for automating tests in Postman
Learning how to use artificial intelligence to conduct tests in Postman
Discovering the documentation feature in Postman, which allows for the automatic generation of test documentation
Using Newman to automate test execution and generate detailed reports.
Jonathas Santos has been working as a QA since 2018. He began his career as a graduate in Business Administration and made the transition to IT in 2011, starting as a Technical Document Analyst at MV Systems. In this role, he was responsible for writing user guides for customers and preparing release notes for new software versions. He then pursued postgraduate studies in Software Quality Engineering. His experience in business has enabled him to develop key skills in planning and executing tests. At companies like Accenture, he honed his skills in test automation, working with API testing using REST-Assured and Postman. Currently, at Ritain.io, he is responsible for developing and conducting automated tests with Robot Framework. For Jonathas, quality is not solely a QA responsibility but a team-wide commitment, where everyone must be passionate about quality and excellence in each release.
