Session #1: There are no flaky tests!

When walking the test automation path, making those investments in having automation that is meaningful and that would attempt to validate those happy paths to open some space to exploratory testing we often do not invest in it the best way possible.

Agile and DevOps are mandating that we need things faster than before while keeping the same level of quality (or even rising it).

Test automation is fascinating, it does some things that look like magic, so we build one test after another and we continue investing. When we realise we have dozens of tests and we are hit by those unstable tests (often in the worst time possible, not that there is a good time to have unstable tests!). They call it flaky tests, that mythical being unicorn like that appears and disappears without explanation.

In a company shifting towards CI and growing like crazy, at a given time, the tests started to have an unstable behaviour and we were blamed for it!

In this talk I want to show you the strategies we used to fight the “Flaky tests” claim, and how we eventually demonstrated that there are no flaky tests!

Key Takeaways:

  • Understand the importance of flaky behaviour and what can we learn with it
  • Strategies used to fight the flaky tests claim and different approaches experimented

Session #2: Grid-ify Your Automation Infrastructure: Harnessing the Power of Selenium Grid

When it comes to improving framework scalability, Selenium Grid is a powerful tool that allows you to run tests in parallel on multiple machines, thus significantly reducing the time required to execute tests.

In terms of personal experience, implementing Selenium Grid can be a challenging task. In this webinar, I will be addressing some of the common challenges include setting up the hub and nodes, configuring the network, and managing the test results. It is also important to have a solid understanding of the underlying architecture and how it works to ensure that you can take full advantage of its capabilities.

Also, I will also be covering how we can integrate selenium grid into typical Java-Selenium-Page Object model framework thus helped in reducing execution time by 80%

Key Takeaways:

  • How selenium grid can helps?
  • Scaling the automation infra
  • Reducing the regression time
  • Simplifying the pipeline
  • How to adapt selenium grid faster?
