AI systems can unintentionally produce biased outcomes based on factors like gender, names, or region. This session explores why bias testing is becoming an important part of QA and introduces the Demographic Swap Matrix – a simple, repeatable technique for identifying bias in AI-powered features.
Through practical examples and real-world case studies, learn how QA professionals can test AI for fairness and turn bias detection into a structured, actionable testing process – no ML background required.
1. Why bias is a testing gap, not just a data-science/ethics concern
2. The demographic-swap matrix technique – a concrete, repeatable test design
3. How to turn “is this biased?” into an objective, comparable test outcome.
4. Real-world case studies: what shipped without this testing, and what it cost
