How AI agents can think, collaborate, and act across the testing lifecycle
Where agents actually fit into real QA workflows (not just demos)
What breaks, what works, and what’s still messy — honestly
Dan Snell is an engineering leader with over 10 years of experience building and leading high-performing software teams in agile environments. He specializes in driving engineering maturity, improving delivery outcomes, and developing strong technical talent while aligning technology strategy with business goals across cloud-native and enterprise systems.
With deep expertise in AWS, microservices, DevOps, CI/CD, and full-stack applications, Dan has delivered scalable, secure solutions in highly regulated industries including Finance, Insurance, and Oil & Gas. He brings a pragmatic, people-first approach to governance and change, and is passionate about mentoring engineers, fostering ownership, and enabling teams to deliver meaningful, lasting impact.
In the software industry, different companies adopt different approaches to develop and maintain systems with high-quality standards. But how can this quality be ensured? Should we test exhaustively, or incorporate processes that guarantee quality from the beginning of the development cycle?
Are testers the guardians of quality, or should developers be the first advocates of quality? Let’s explore these concepts based on real-world examples.
Diogo Rede began his career in Radiology but soon transitioned to IT, where he found his passion for Quality Assurance. With experience in companies such as Critical Software, Farfetch, TestRail, and currently Hugo Boss, he has worked across multiple industries (telecom, e-commerce, betting, fashion, testing) and in different testing areas such as web, mobile, and APIs, with a strong focus on automation. He has also led a dedicated test automation team. Today, he is QA Team Lead at Hugo Boss Digital Campus, where he built a team from scratch and leads the implementation of quality strategies in agile methodologies within the e-commerce product department.
