The rise of AI-assisted “vibe coding” – where developers instruct LLMs conversationally to generate entire modules or features — is reshaping how software is built, but at a cost. While it dramatically accelerates delivery velocity, it introduces compounding quality risks: shallow test coverage, architectural drift, and logic that works but isn’t understood. As adoption grows across engineering teams, the defect surface shifts from implementation to specification — where bugs are harder to catch and regressions more unpredictable. This piece explores the trade-offs, where traditional QA discipline must adapt, and what “QA for AI-generated code” looks like in practice.
1. Architecting “Thinking” Agents: Learn how we moved beyond chatbots to build QE-GPT, utilizing structured RAG and graph-based orchestration (LangGraph) to turn ambiguous requirements into actionable, high-fidelity test artifacts.
2. The End of Fragile Locators: Discover Sentinel AI, our “Acting” agent that uses visual intelligence to execute mobile automation through plain English, solving the “maintenance nightmare” of traditional scripts.
3. From Prompts to Pipelines: Understand the engineering reality of the QE-GPT Service—moving from one-shot prompts to building autonomous workflows that can reason, plan, and execute complex tasks without constant human intervention.
Director of R&D, QA & AI Leader | Vice Chair, India Centre of Excellence — MYCOM
Sankar Haridas Menon is a technology executive with over 21 years of experience spanning AI, enterprise software, telecommunications, and hardware/firmware. At MYCOM, he leads initiatives in AI, Network Assurance, and Service Experience Assurance — building intelligent analytics platforms for global Communications Service Providers (CSPs).
With a career spanning Oracle and Crestron Electronics, Sankar has driven enterprise-scale transformation in AI-powered testing, cost optimization, and cloud-native SaaS platforms. His engineering teams have consistently redefined Quality Engineering in the age of machine learning.
A practitioner-scholar, Sankar is currently pursuing a PhD in Large Language Models at BITS Pilani, Goa. He holds an M.Tech in Software Engineering from BITS Pilani, a B.Tech from CUSAT, and has completed the Cornell Executive Management Program.
AI in QA is often discussed only around test case generation, automation scripting, or coding assistance. But the bigger opportunity is to make Quality Engineering more context-aware by connecting requirements, product knowledge, bugs, test cases, automation, risk, and impact analysis.
In this session, I’ll share a practical view of how AI can support modern QA teams beyond simple test generation — including requirement analysis, smarter test coverage, regression impact thinking, automation support, QA knowledge assistance, and decision-making. I’ll also cover the current limitations, risks, and what QA teams can realistically start doing today without getting carried away by hype.
Mohan Murthy is a Quality Engineering leader with 18+ years of experience in software testing, QA strategy, automation, process improvement, and enterprise quality transformation. He has led QA teams across complex product environments, with a strong focus on improving test coverage, reducing production escapes, strengthening release confidence, and building scalable quality practices.
He has worked extensively across manual testing, automation strategy, Agile delivery, RCA-driven quality improvement, metrics-based governance, and cross-functional engineering collaboration. In recent years, Mohan has been actively exploring practical applications of AI and Large Language Models in Quality Engineering, including test design, requirement analysis, automation support, impact analysis, and context-aware QA workflows.
His current interest lies in how QA teams can move beyond basic test generation and use AI responsibly to improve product understanding, testing effectiveness, and quality decision-making.
