testing day
WITH
JAMES BACH

Full Day Workshop on (Real) Testing

Who should attend?

Hear from them...

James has been a great leader in Testing. He has been a thought-provoker, challenger, questioner, coach, trainer and more importantly invaluable in my learning about testing. I can still remember my days where I bought “Lessons learned in software testing during 2009” and every night I used to read the lessons before I fell asleep. They are still relevant today which can provoke thinking in your brain. To upskill my testing, I also took his Rapid Software Testing class to dig deeper about testing and this class is highly recommended for any tester in my strong opinion. The superlatives are less for a testing leader like James Bach who cares for testers education. If you ever find his time, make sure you learn testing from him.

I got introduced to James on a Saturday morning in my office when I searched for “how to be a software testing expert”. This was my first weekend after getting hired as Associate QA Enginner way back in 2006. Thanks to Google, one of the videos was “Becoming a software testing expert” by James Bach. The next one hour literally has changed my life. James makes you realise that reputation is important than money and teaches you ways to build your reputation. Thanks to his coaching methods and grilling methods in training, one comes out sharpened, skilled and ready for any testing challenge. You will start loving testing and add enormous value to your projects and organization along with building a personal brand.

I can summarize the influence that James and Michael has on me in on sentence. They taught me ‘how to think and solve things myself’. That made me more of an independent thinker. Before asking anything to James…. I would ask myself “How can i find it myself”.

Event Schedule & Outline

10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on 25th June, 2019 | Bangalore

Do you ever have a product or a feature placed in front of you for testing? Does that excite you, or make you nervous? Do you know what to do to test it? Can you explain and justify what needs to be done? Come to this seminar, where you will practice some real testing under the critical eye of James Bach.

Analyzing a product to identify its risks and testable surfaces is not easy. It takes practice. Gaining stakeholder’s respect as a tester requires more than simply writing some test cases and trying to automate them. Anyone can do shallow testing but what if you need to test more deeply? Can you tell the difference between shallow and deep testing? This workshop is a simulation of a day in a project where James will review your work and share his system and heuristics for methodically testing a product.

He will challenge you to narrate your testing, explain your coverage and find a test strategy that makes sense. He will also help you to understand the Heuristic Test Strategy Model, so that your analysis and opinions will carry more weight.

Come prepared with your skills and your questions and see if you can stand up to scrutiny against one of the most famous and notorious teachers in the testing world.

James Bach
James is CEO of Satisfice, Inc, company dedicated to teaching and consulting in Software Testing. He is a Founding Member of Rapid Software Testing(RST) Methodology.

He started in the Software business as a programmer. He likes programming. But He finds the problems of software quality analysis and improvement more interesting than those of software production. For him, there’s something very compelling about the question “How do I know my work is good?” Indeed, how do I know anything is good? What does good mean? That’s why He got into Software Testing, in 1987.
