Session #2
Using BDD effectively

Testers who are new to BDD often write cucumber scenarios after the development is done using the GIVEN WHEN THEN format describing interaction with UI interface with lots of clicks and selects but that is NOT BDD, that is writing test case using cucumber and just writing test scripts won’t give the benefit of BDD.

A key part of BDD is the process where the team members get together and explore a story talking about both happy path and what can go wrong. Two simple techniques can help us have more structure conversation – Feature mapping and Example mapping.

So the topic will explain how a proper BDD is followed and its benefit, far beyond just writing gherkin scenarios.

Key Takeaways:

  • Learn how to use effective BDD.
  • Demystify the real benefit of using BDD.
