Certain LinkedIn influencers are telling us that ChatGPT has disrupted “manual testing” and that everyone will have to incorporate ChatGPT into our work or else be ground to bits under the wheels of progress.

They are wrong. ChatGPT and similar tools are both practically and conceptually incapable of testing. In this short talk, I will tell you why.

Yet, we testers cannot ignore ChatGPT– not because ChatGPT MIGHT help us test better– but rather because many managers and developers will expect us to use ChatGPT EXTENSIVELY for testing. Therefore, we have to know enough about it to explain why depending on ChatGPT for testing is a very bad practice.
